Grow Healthy Hair Through Nutrition and Hormones |

Forget hair extensions. Growing your hair needn't be an expensive task of purchasing various topical treatments to give the illusion of thick hair. The good news is you can grow hair! The guidelines are straightforward: eat plenty of green vegetables, have blood tests to see which nutrients you are lacking, top up your hormone levels through bioidentical hormones and check whether you have a happy intestine that absorbs what you eat. It's normal for us to lose 50 - 100 hairs a day; but when you begin finding bunches everywhere and thinning patches become increasingly noticeable, its your body's way of telling you something is triggering hair loss. The reasons for hair loss vary from: stress, hormonal changes, certain medication, genetics or bad nutrition.
Hormone imbalances and foods devoid of nutrients play a large role in hair loss because it slows down all our hormones, especially the thyroid; so it would be a good idea to be more conscious of what you are eating. Eating anything to fill the gaping hole of hunger doesn't necessarily produce the hormones or enzymes we require for energy or circulation. What we eat either stimulates our hormones or neutralises the delicate balance of male/female and thyroid hormones.
Avoid 1) Dairy products, refined sugars, alcohol (encouraged yeast) - all this ferments in the intestine, causing exhaustion and malabsorption 2) Stressful situations: too much stress causes hair loss. Try meditation or yoga to relax the mind 3) Smoking: the nasty chemicals from a cigarette disrupt circulation and severely affect your thyroid, which regulates circulation
Do 1) A nutritional blood test to see which nutrients and vitamins you are lacking 2) Eat plenty of seafood, mainly oysters, cockles and seaweed. This nourishes the thyroid gland |
