Do You Want A Weight Loss Diet, Or A Proper Diet? |

Just when we get started on one diet, the tabloids announce another celebrity diet. The world of achieving a slim body is seductive with, protein shakes, weight loss products and colourful pills, which could be resulting in: a) regaining the weight or b) difficulty shifting the weight despite the ā5-time-a-week ā gym regime. For some, a regimented diet is a success and unfortunately for others it's an endless battle. But I know and understand the secret to permanent weight loss: I have spent 25 years researching and practising the nutrition and hormone therapy plan, resulting in a trim body without hundreds of restrictions. Yes, dieting can result in weight loss ā but have you ever stopped to think whether your body is truly receiving all round good nutrition. By this, I mean the correct amount of proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals? Most diets restrict or even omit certain food groups, without giving much attention the impact it has on certain hormones that keep a healthy waistline and metabolism (breaking down of food into energy). When it comes to weight gain and obesity, the real answer lies in balancing hormones and eating certain foods to produce healthy hormones: Thyroid, DHEA, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) and Testosterone are just some of the hormones which keep you slim. Hypothyroidism is low thyroid function, indicating a slower metabolism than normal. You can find yourself gaining weight, despite eating less and plenty of gym activity, coupled with feeling tired all the time. T3 is the active molecule in the thyroid - it burns all the fat accumulated in the undesired parts of the body. Basically when T3 functions properly, the body begins burning fat around the waist, thighs and hips. Testosterone in women is produced partly by the adrenal glands and partly by the ovaries The main function of testosterone is to maintain the muscles, healthy levels of libido and energy. When testosterone declines or there is a deficiency, it makes it difficult to shift those extra few pounds. In men, it causes the accumulation of fat around the waist and mood swings. DHEA is a male hormone that helps to increase the lean mass, has an effect on cholesterol levels and burning the fat accumulated around the waist.
The Solution: Bio Identical Hormones therapy and weight loss go hand in hand. Nutrition counts for 60% and lifestyle and exercise about 20% and hormones about 20%. To combat weight loss, my plan is as follows: A clinical assessment and blood test will be done to correct the nutritional deficiencies and I replenish declining hormones with natural ones; a customised diet will be presented to encourage your hormones. The programme requires minor changes to your lifestyle and adjustments to the way you eat - the result will be a slimmer, happier you. The beauty of the programme is there is no counting of calories! |
